Gord Fraser was 9th in the Intermediate Sprint and after the first Stage is in 94th spot in GC, 34 seconds back of race leader Chris Boardman More Norba News We spoke with Chrissy Redden a little while ago about the Red Wing, Minnesota race yesterday (in which she finished 5th). „The course was a lot like Boler Mountain (the first Canada Cup, which Chrissy won), it was lots of ups and downs, a fun course. It had rained the two days before we raced, and the earlier races chewed up the course, so it was slow. The two Alisons (Sydor and Dunlap) and Ruthie (Matthes) went away from the start, and I was in a chase group with Lesley (Tomlinson), Tammy (Jacques) and Shari (Kain). Both Alisons dropped out with mechanicals, so Ruthie out in front on her own. I dropped back from the others, and then Shari dropped off and I caught her. Beth (Coates) had been working her way up and went by me to take fourth.‰ Chrissy is now sitting in 5th place overall in the Norba National Series. She leaves for Pennsylvania and Norba National #3 in a couple of days, and promises to give us a report after that race also. Kirk Molday, who finished second in the men‚s race, now leads the Norba Series with 360 points. Behind him (tied) are Steve Larsen and Rishi Grewal at 324 points. Chrissy tells us that Kirk‚s hair is now green! Maybe that‚s what makes him so strong... UCI Road Rankings (as of June 9th) 1. Laurent Jalabert (Fra) 2125 pts 2. Alex Zulle (Swi) 2065 3.
