Chris Wherry has signed with The Navigators Cycling Team for the 2003 road-racing season. The 30-year old Boulder (Colorado) resident got in just under the wire as the team prepares for its training camp in Italy, which begins next week. Chris had one of his best seasons ever in 2002 with victories in several top domestic events such as the Saturn Classic, the Cascade Classic and the Tour of the Gila. He also had a strong race in one of the hardest 1-day events on the international calendar with a 2nd place finish in the First Union (now Wachovia) Invitational in Lancaster, PA.

Chris will be joining former teammate Henk Vogels on the Navigators squad, which also had a very strong 2002 season that included victories in 40 events including the USPRO First Union Championship in Philadelphia, Housatonic Classic, Chris Thater Memorial and the Arlington Cup. "I'm super stoked to have Chris on board" stated Team Director Ed Beamon. "He will fit right in with the rest of our team and his strength will certainly be an asset to our capabilities in all of the toughest events", he added. The addition of Chris Wherry brings the total number of riders to 14, with 10 of them returning from the 2002 roster.
