Canadian riders Geoff Kabush (Scott Sports-Maxxis) and Maghalie Rochette (Clif Bar) won the men's and women's titles at the three day Moab Rocks stage race, each winning their respective final stages on Monday.
Geoff Kabush scored a natural hat trick in the men's race, with three straight stage wins to take the title. Kabush won the final stage by 8.5 seconds over Justin Lindine, who took second in the stage and overall. Kabush's overall winning margin was 59 seconds. Ben Sonntag finished third in the stage and third overall, a further 57.4 seconds back. Jason Wiebe of Manitoba managed to hold onto ninth overall after finishing tenth in the final stage.
Rochette, who was third on the opening stage and second on the second stage won the final stage with a dominating performance. Rochette beat her Clif Bar team mate Lea Davison by 4:21.3 on the stage, with former overall leader Jena Greaser finishing third, a further 1:20.8 back. This vaulted Rochette into first in the final overall standings, 4:08.6 ahead of Greaser. Rachel Pageau finished 11th overall after finishing 11th for the third consecutive day in stage results.
