Kristina Laforge is the 2010 Canadian Junior women's Champion for cross-country, and was the bronze medalist at the Youth Olympics in Singapore. She was the top-ranked Canadian Junior going into the race today, but she was the third Canadian to finish. She was 16th overall out of 32 women that started the race.

CC: How was your race today?

Kristina: Very hard. I can't explain it, but I just wanted to sleep on my bike.

CC: Were you sore or just tired?

Kristina: I was just tired. Fatigued. Really fatigued.

CC: When did you get back from Singapore?

Kristina: I got back on the 28th, during the night. So the 29th in the wee hours of the morning. I don't think I was in the best condition to race today.

CC: Is this your first Worlds?

Kristina: Yes. I'm second year Junior but I didn't get to go last year.

CC: Do you think the heat played into your race today?

Kristina: I think I was just fatigued from all the races this year. It was harder because of the heat but mostly I was just tired.

CC: Would this be your kind of race course otherwise?

Kristina: Yeah, I like the technical courses.

CC: You've had a full race schedule this year.

Kristina: I was in Singapore for the Youth Olympics from the 7th to the 28th. Good thing I didn't do the European World Cup races at least.

CC: So that schedule tired you out?

Kristina: Yeah, I knew I wasn't in top shape coming into this race. I tried to be positive but I just didn't feel good today.

CC: You still managed to catch some people at the end though right?

Kristina: There was one lap where I felt like it went better. I was able to catch three people but I had to look deep inside to find that energy.
