U.S. Open Cancelled ... Again

The U.S. Open of Cycling, scheduled for next month, has been cancelled organizers announced this morning. Last year's race in Virginia was won by Symmetric's rider Svein Tuft, and featured television network coverage, as well as snow and bitter cold.

The organizers initially announced that it would not take place this year due to sponsorship problems, however, at the beginning of March they said that it would move to Providence, Rhode Island and a May 31st race date (from April 13th). Now they have announced that it will be postponed until 2009, due to lack of sponsors.
