Garmin Receives ProTour Licence for 2009

Three Organisers' Licenses Renewed, And One Team License Awarded

Based on the applications submitted, the Licenses Commission, which met in Geneva on 18th September, has announced that it has granted a four-year UCI ProTour license, from 1st January 2009 until 31st December 2012, to the following three events:

• Vattenfall Cyclassics (GER),
• Crité rium du Dauphiné Libé ré (FRA),
• Tour de Suisse (SUI).

These races join the 2009 UCI ProTour calendar alongside the Tour Down Under (AUS), la Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco (ESP), le Tour de Romandie (SUI), la Volta Ciclista a Catalunya (ESP), la Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian-San Sebastian (ESP), le Tour de Pologne (POL) et le GP Ouest France-Plouay (FRA). Other license requests are currently being studied by the Licenses Commission.

The Licenses Commission also awarded a UCI ProTour license, for the same period, to the team Garmin - Chipotle presented by H3O (USA).
