IMBA Canada Expands Trail Consulting Arm

Daniel Scott has joined IMBA Canada in the role of full-time Trail Specialist, filling a need to expand our trail consulting and education services. Daniel is a graduate of the University of Guelph School of Landscape Architecture, and holds a certificate in Mountain Bike Operations from Capilano University. His passion for trails and adventure, along with his strong work ethic, solid design background, and dedication to sustainable recreation practices make him an asset to IMBA Canada\'s growing team. A big thank you to Trek Bikes 1 World, 2 Wheels program, which provided the seed money to bring Dan on board.

Ontario\'s Newest Lift-Accessed Mountain Bike Area Scheduled to Open June 27th

Sir Sam’s Ski Area has just announced plans to turn the operation into a year round recreation destination. The new mountain bike area will feature 7 km cross country trails, plus lift-accessed downhill facilities and a bike park, thanks to help from volunteers from the Durham Mountain Biking Association. IMBA Canada will be bringing the Ontario mobile tool trailer up for the weekend of June 13th to lead a workshop and trailbuilding session on the new trails. The resort opens June 27th, and will start hosting a Tuesday night race series starting on June 30th. An Ontario Cup Downhill Race is also scheduled for August 15th and 16th. More.
