A Permanent Home for Chicopee Bike Park
The newest rendition of the Chicopee Bike Park in Kitchener, Ontario is seeing tremendous success in its permanent location to the side of the ski slopes, with an average of 50 riders hitting the dirt each evening. The park was an IMBA Canada project, designed in partnership with local riders and builders Nick Outram and Brock Reinhardt. Check out the latest pics and videos of the park at Pinkbike.com, as well as this article in the Kitchener Waterloo Record.
IMBA Canada Builds First Pumptrack in Ottawa Region
Earlier this month, IMBA Canada joined up with organizers at Camp Fortune for a day of trail building in Gatineau, Quebec. Over 20 volunteers came out on a cool, bright Saturday to help repair cross-country trails and build the first pump track in the National Capital Region. The 60-foot-long, oval track was designed to be accessible to riders of all ages and experience levels. It will be open for local riders and will be used as a teaching tool by Mountain Bike Kids, a summer day camp that runs at Camp Fortune. The trailday was supported by the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion\'s Trails for Life grant through funding of the IMBA Canada Ontario Mobile Tool Trailer program.
