CCA Q3 Report
The Canadian Cycling Association's COO Steve Lacelle as released his third quarter report (October-December 2005) on CCA operations during that period. the full report can be downloaded Here.
Briefly, the Lacelle reports that the CCA is on track financially, and has made important coaching hirings in Houshang Amiri (National Cycling Centres' Head Coach) and Tanya Dubnicoff (National BMX Coach). Of the five strategic imperatives undertaken, the CCA has met (or is close to meeting) most of their goals, with a few exceptions:
1. Website Redesign - no movement here
2. Merchandising Program - well below objectives (partially related to website Redesign)
3. TV Coverage - no success yet, but negotiating for 2006
4. Sprockids - well behind schedule
Overall, we feel that the CCA has succeeded in building a solid base of operations for long-term growth and improvement. We are still concerned, however, at the slow movement on youth initiatives, such as Sprockids. As we have said many times - our current crop of stars aren't getting any younger, and it will be difficult to grab marketing dollars once they have all left (and before new ones come along).
