London Velodrome Six Day - Day 4
Courtesy Bob Schelstraete
Night 4 is in the books with another very hard evening of Bicycle Racing at the Indoor Velodrome in London Ontario. With a week separating the 2 weekends of racing, the riders spent all week recovering for what turned out to be a sprinters dream night on the boards.
The eveming is split into 3 sessions of Madison Team racing each session, offering 30 minutes of painful fun.
The racing was close and competitive with the London Team of Dave St. James & Dave Byer being the most aggressive duo on the night. All their hard work was for naught as a late spill knocked the team out of contention for the win.
The 2 teams that dominated the night were the Delhi & Brantford pairings as both teams battled it out right untill the final Sprint for double points to closeout the evenings racing. Team Delhi with Mike Renneboog & Keith Thorarison took the win, with Brantford very close in 2nd position on the night.
The Teams of Waterloo & Burlington finished 1 point apart with Waterloo taking 3rd on the night.
There are 2 nights of racing to go with Brantford leading the standings, Delhi, Burlington, Waterloo & London follow in that order with less than 3 points sepatating the top 3 teams.
Racing continues on Saturday night at 7pm. The 6 Day Bike race concludes with the final day of racing on Sunday afternoon at 2pm.
All of the on the edge of your seat action is taking place at the London Gardens just off of Wellington Rd. S. in London.
Admission for the final 2 days is $5 for Adults, Children are FREE.
If you have never seen bicycle racing up close, plan to attend the last 2 days of the Forest City 6-day.
