Giant Bicycle Canada is pleased to announce the signing of Canada's top three professional downhill racers. We are also excited about the introduction of Giant's revolutionary Maestro suspension system, which is now integrated into the new Giant Glory downhill bike. " I am really looking forward to Canada's top three riders pushing our new bike to its limits", stated team manager Sean Jenkins, "Those guys will show the country the new capabilities of a downhill bike designed with Giant's Maestro suspension platform!"
Leading the way for Giant Canada in 2006 is Canadian National team member and reigning 2005 Canadian National series Champion, Luke Kitzanuk. At the beginning of 2005 Luke shocked race world as he claimed victory at the opening Canadian National series race in Bromont, Quebec. After that race Luke didn't stop earning podium appearance for the rest of the season, as he rarely finished out of the top three! When asked about his goals for 2006, Luke stated, " I will be pushing hard for the overall title again and would like the title of National Champion for '06. Also, representing Canada at the World Championships again would be an absolute honor."
New to Giant Canada for 2006 is Quebec based rider, Charles-A. Dubé. At only 21 years old Charles has already made a name for himself, he is currently ranked #2 in Canada and was a member of the 2005 Canadian National team. " I'm very happy to ride for Giant Canada in 2006, it's a great company and the race team has been so competitive for so many years now. I have been training very hard this winter so I can fit into Giant's program and ride with my great team mates Luke and Eric in 2006!"
Returning to the team for 2006 is Canada's #3 ranked rider, Eric Goss out of New Brunswick. " My main focus in 2006 is the Canadian National Championships and securing a good Canada Cup overall standing. I'm really excited to be with Giant for 2006, this is my fourth year on board with Giant and I can safely say that we have the best race program in the country for me to accomplish my goals!" Arguably the fittest downhill rider on the Canadian circuit, Eric is always a threat to win at any race he enters.
Managing the team and Giant's professional race program again for 2006 is Sean Jenkins. Expect to see Sean also competing at the Canadian National Championships and World Masters Championships in the 30-39 class.
Giant Canada's Factory team riders will be competing across Canada in Provincial series events, National series events and North American World Cups. With a powerhouse team, a newly designed race bike and many great companies supporting our program, look out for Giant Canada's riders on a podium near you!
