Jackson Takes Silver and Wohlberg Gold!
We just received a report from Canadian Team coach Steve Lund. This makes a complete set of medals for Canadian cyclists in 3 events!
Women's 28 km Time Trial
The Women's TT just wrapped up, unofficial results (sorry no times, I'm at the Track)
1 Anna Wilson Aus
2 Linda Jackson Can
3 Kathy Watt Aus
6 Anne Samplonius Can
9 Andrea Hannos Can
The big story of this race once again is about Kathy Watt. Watt pulled a Delgado and missed her start by about 30 seconds, the confusion also caused Linda to lose about 5 seconds at the start. Wilson hovever was untouchable, she finished about 60 seconds ahead of Jackson with Watt coming in 5-10 seconds behind Linda.
The Men's TT starts in about 2 hours, Canadian riders are Matt Anand and Eric Wohlberg.
Eric Whloberg added a Gold Medal to his RR Bronze today in the Men's 42 km TT. I don't have times handy but he won by about 30 seconds. Stuart O'Grady was the pre-race favorite but a bad crash cost him a lot of time, he finished second. The South African rider David George finished third. Track starts on Thursday, I let you know how it goes.
