MacBurnie will be competing in the fourth edition of the Tour de Georgia, which will see teams such as Discovery Channel, Team CSC, and Phonak battle it out on the roads of Georgia for over six stages from April 18-23. The peloton will be racing roughly 960 kilometers with many big names in it such as Viacheslav Ekimov, Floyd Landis, and Robbie McEwen to name a few. Dustin says, I am looking forward to testing myself against the big names in the peloton, this will be an excellent opportunity for me.
This is the next step in MacBurnie's career as a professional cyclist to take the start line with the best in the business at the Tour de Georgia. This winter Dustin signed with TargeTraining, the team is in its first year in the Pro Peloton as a UCI Continental team and are enjoying great success this season. This is the biggest race for our team and we are not going to be just content with being at the race and taking the start line, we are there to race hard.
As MacBurnie continues to progress through the ranks and obtains results individually, he is setting the bar higher each year for Atlantic Canadian riders. The Atlantic Cycling Centre would like to congratulate Dustin on his opportunity to race in the Tour de Georgia with his team Targetraining.
