Forest City Velodrome First Anniversary

This coming Saturday night - April 29th - marks the first anniversary of the opening night of the Forest City Velodrome.
A special night of celebration will mark the occasion with thrilling back to basics racing followed by birthday cake for all!
- Chocolate Cake, lots of cake ................. Ahhhhh CaaAAAAaakkkKKKkkke!
This will be a very special evening in the life of the FCV. Please come and celebrate with your fellow track riders and heap lots of praise on those who are responsible for this wonderful resource.
Racing starts at 7pm.

!!! - riders who want to race, show up at 6:15 for warm-ups.
Bring family! Bring friends! Bring the neighbour's kids! Bring anyone's kids! Bring your Gramma! Even your friend's Gramma!
Don't forget to bring balloons, noisemakers (bells, cowbells, drums, gongs, trumpets etc) party hats and what have you.

Robin Baillie won the tenth edition of the 'King of Spring' road race, Sunday. He edged out Stephen Ferris by a few inches and Pat Ferris by a couple of bike lengths to claim the title. The trio did the 42 km Montney out and back in 1:10:54 hours.
Lisa Verbisky edged out Jolea Bilodeau to win the 'Queen of Spring' title.
Roger St. Jean out sprinted Bob Andrews for 4th at 1:16:29 hours. Les Elliot had 1:17:25 for 6th. There was a big sprint for 7th with Rod Lewis holding off Richard Wood, Dean Lowry, Gary Hilderman, Lisa Verbisky, Jolea Bilodeau and Kevin Cooper, all with a time of 1:18:27. Gord Harris had 1:19:59, Sam Keats 1:21:10, Darren Guliov 1:23:24, Jamie Maxwell 1:24:19 and Trisha Gladysz 1:41:24.
Adam Bilodeau won the 25 km event with 49:17. Suzi Bach had 56:19 for second and Eva St. Jean third at 56:31.
Coming up:
Thursday: Baldonnel time trial 6:30 pm.
Sunday: Challenge Cup/BC Summer Games Selection race in Dawson Creek at 2 pm. Meet at the Spirit River road, past the traffic circle in Dawson Creek and meet at the Rolla Road intersection. This is the first Challenge Cup race to be held in Dawson Creek since 1989.
