"First to the Sun" is a one-time only bike tour in New Zealand culminating in the sight of the first millennium dawn in Gisborne, officially designated as the First City in the World to see the sunrise on January 1, 2000.
The organizers, from England and New Zealand, are seeking "moderately experienced" cyclists to participate in the 1000 km 3-week tour and contribute to the international atmosphere.
An information session will be held in Victoria at The Ocean Pointe Resort, 45 Songees Executive Club Room Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 12 noon - 1:30 p.m.
