The second annual Maritime Super Week is just around the corner. Starting July 8th, events will be held in all 3 maritime provinces over the course of one week. The first event is the Gaspereau Valley Challenge Road Race in Wolfville Nova Scotia on July 8th. The next event is the popular Halifax Criterium held in Downtown around the commons on July 9th. Afterwards, the racing moves to New Brunswick where a criterium will be held in Moncton on the 13th. The last events will be the PEI Bike Fest, a stage race (time trial, criterium and road race) taking place in Summerside Prince Edward Island on July 15th and 16th . While it is possible to participate at only one or 2 events, riders need to race in all three to be a part of the general classification. Winners for the junior, elite and masters A categories (men and women) will have their name put on the Super Week trophy.

Riders to look out for during these events include Dustin MacBurnie from Truro NS, winner of the king of the mountains at the Philadelphia International Championship in June. Jamie Lamb of Halifax, Espoir bronze medallist in the road race at the national championships will also be present for the Nova Scotia and New Brunswick events. Newfoundlander Zach Garland, winner of the 2006 grand prix Charlvoix road race will be racing in the two Nova Scotia events. Appearances are also expected from Ryan Bellivau, rider for Espoir Laval, Geoff O'toole, Atlantic champion and 8th in the road race at the national championships as well as Max Keeler who has just returned from racing in Belgium. On the women's side, Heather Lamson who did the Montreal world cup with the Canadian National team will be a top contender.
