Unused Bike Reflectors Needed!
Courtesy Sara Hershoff, Reflections Project

We know you have them. Would you like to put them to good use?

Juno winning singer/ songwriter Fred Eaglesmith is asking you to offer up those boxes of uninstalled reflectors that are sitting in your backroom cluttering up the place. Why you ask?

Well, Fred lives in Southern Ontario- home of tobacco and tomatoes and seasonally to thousands of migrant workers who plant and harvest these things. Last year alone four migrant workers were killed in cycling accidents and many others were injured while travelling on bikes from the farms where they work to the towns where they shop, do laundry and most importantly call their families. Fred knows that proper reflectors could have helped to prevent these accidents and he knows that many retailers may be willing to help the people who keep our food so affordable (so we have more cash to buy nice things like bikes) stay safe. These reflectors will be distributed and installed through RISE, Port Dover and area churches and the Migrant Workers Support Centre during harvest season- late August early September.

If you would like more information about this project or are interested in donating any type of reflective devise to help reduce the risk to cycling migrant workers please email sara@creemore.com. If you are keen on this project and need no further info you can just mail your donation of reflective items to Reflections- Fred Eaglesmith, 243 Main Street, Port Dover, ON. N0A 1N0.
