Canadian Cycling Association's Chief Operating Officer Takes up New Challenge

The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA), the national governing body for cycling in Canada, announced today that Steve Lacelle, its Chief Operating Officer, will take up new challenges at the end of the month to pursue a career in banking operations.

“Steve has made significant contributions to restructuring the association and to building strong relationships with his team, collaborators and our partners,“ said Dr. Pierre Blanchard, CCA President. “I sincerely wish him the best of luck in his new endeavour, and I am confident that he will be able to bring as much to his new organization as he did for the CCA.“

Under Lacelle's stewardship, the association increased revenues significantly, signed several new corporate partnerships and refocused its commitment to improving support to its athletes and coaches. And with several new projects in the pipeline for 2007, Lacelle commented, “We have achieved much of what we planned for the organization and I wish all athletes, coaches and organizers, my colleagues at the provincial level, and indeed all staff, the very best for the future."

De nouveaux défis pour le directeur de l'exploitation de l'Association cycliste canadienne

L'Association cycliste canadienne (ACC), organisme directeur du cyclisme au Canada, a annoncé aujourd'hui que Steve Lacelle, son Directeur de l'exploitation, relèvera de nouveaux défis d'ici à la fin du mois d'août, pour poursuivre sa carrière dans les opérations bancaires.

« Steve a apporté sa contribution à l'ACC de manière significative, notamment en restructurant notre organisation et en établissant des relations fructueuses avec son équipe, ses collaborateurs et nos partenaires », souligne le Dr. Pierre Blanchard, Président de l'ACC. « Je lui souhaite sincèrement beaucoup de succès dans ses projets futurs, et je suis convaincu qu'il saura apporter autant à sa nouvelle entreprise qu'il l'a fait pour l'ACC. »

Durant son mandat, les revenus de l'association ont augmenté de manière significative, plusieurs nouvelles ententes de commandite corporatives ont été signées et l'engagement de l'ACC à soutenir ses athlètes et entraîneurs a été renforcé. Steve Lacelle souligne : « Plusieurs nouveaux projets se profilent à l'horizon 2007 pour l'association, et nous avons mené à bien la plupart des objectifs que nous nous étions donnés. Je souhaite un avenir rempli de succès aux athlètes, entraîneurs et organisateurs, à mes collègues des associations provinciales et bien-sûr aux membres du personnel de l'ACC. »
