"World Championships" ITT MTB Jack's Lake, Bedford, Nova Scotia
Sunday September 3rd
One lap, ~ 6km, riders off at 1 minute intervals
Congratulations to Robert Klue of Canada who was crowned the 2006 ITT MTB Champion. A strong field made for a tight finish with Robert finishing only 7 seconds ahead of UCI MTB Rookie of the Year Andrew L'Esprance. With L'Esprance's remarkable finish there is already talk of him skipping both Junior and Espoir Categories for 2007 and jumping right into Senior Elite. L'Esprance is already in negotiations for a 'sweet new deal' for 2007. Watch out for him, Canada Games hopefuls.
The final results are:
1. Robert Klue (Canada) 17:25
2. Andrew L'Esprance (France) 17:32
3. Ian Whitehead (England) 18:01
4. Ryan MacDonald (Scotland) 18:10
5. Simon Myatt (Germany) 18:55
6. Guy Gensey (France) 19:00
7. Roger Nelson (India) 19:04
8. Andrew Walker (South Africa) 19:24
9. Neil Sinclair (Ireland) 19:37
10. Greg Townden (Ukraine) 20:46
Special thanks to Ian Whitehead who created an amazing world champion trophy
