CCA AGM
The Canadian Cycling Association made some significant changes in the structure of the Board today at the Annual General Meeting. In brief, the changes are:
1. Recreation and Transportation (R and T) has been removed from the Board and the Executive, with the disappearnce of the V.P. Rand T position. R and T will be moved into the Development Committee.
2. The Past President advisory position (non-voting) has been dropped - a move orchestrated by the provincial presidents (and against the wishes of the Executive).
3. The number of Athletes Reps has increased from 1 to 2, and they now also have voting rights on the High Performance Committee. (The Reps are Curt Harnett and Andreas Hestler).
There were a number of amendments to the Constitution, all dealing with the above changes.
Ellections were also held for a number of positions (please excuse any name misspellings!):
On the Executive:
V.P. Administration - Paul Carter (Acclaimed)
V.P. High Performance - Yvan Waddell (Acclaimed)
On the Development Committee:
International Commissaire Road and Track - Wayne Promero (B.C.)
Member-at-Large Road and Track - Bill Kinash (Sask.)
Coach Mountain Bike - Eric Reid (Acclaimed) (Man.)
On the High Performance Committee:
Member-at-Large Mountain Bike - Glen Meuwisse (Ont.)
Member-at-Large Road and Track - Warren Lister (Sask.)
