`Cross Results Correction

Chief official Val Davidge has sent in a slight correction to the times for the first two riders in the Women's race at the Championships:

Chrissy Redden - 1:05:51
Sue Palmer - 1:10:32


7th Annual Winter W.O.W. - Ontario

We were expecting sun and warm, but the weather gods dealt us cool and very, very foggy. Hey, take what you get. Sixty riders showed up ready to try and find the trails in the fog. With a little bit of moisture, the normally loose and sandy conditions of Mansfield firmed up nicely, creating great traction and solid cornering. You don't get conditions like this that often, so everyone made the most of it and spent just shy of 4 hours out on the trails. The fog in the pine trees was really something to see. A strange silvery light hung in the tree tops creating unearthly scenes. No snow, but a great ride was had by all.

Many thanks to the Mansfield Outdoor Centre for hosting the event, and also to their kitchen staff for the superb apres-ride pigout (Joan's Brownies Rule!). Thanks also to Jayme from GT, Jim from Best Bike Works and Dave Seto for helping with the ride. We will be back at Mansfield for a number of events in 1999.
