Doping Suspension
Track cyclist Steen Madsen has received a four-year suspension from the Canadian Cycling Association for failing a random drug test. The banned anabolic substance, Nandrolone, was found in Madsen's urine sample provided November 11th in Edmonton. An IOC accredited lab in Montreal provided the A sample analysis December 2nd. A positive result was confirmed upon completion of the B sample analysis on December 12th.
Madsen became a member of the national team development program this fall. Madsen can appeal the decision. We will provide more details as they become available.
