Madsen Protests
Steen Madsen, the Alberta track rider who tested positive for Nandralone and was suspended a few days ago, has filed a lettter of protest to the testing procedure, according to Lenora Parker, Drugfree Sport Manager at the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports. The procedure now is that the protest will go to a panel (of 3 doctors) within 5 working days, and the panel will release its decision on the protest within 15 working days - either rejecting or upholding the protest. The decision could come at any time, but with the holiday season upon us, it is likely that a ruling will not be released until after the beginning of the new year. Even if the protest is rejected, Madsen has the option of filing an appeal of the suspension.
Happy Birthday To...
Brian Walton and Michael Barry, both today.
Software Glitches
You may have noticed (particularly on the Forums) that there have been a few software problems over the last couple of days. We have been doing some software upgrades and, as usually, nothing ever goes completely seamlessly. We have found most of the problems and are in the process of going through the site and fixing them. We have also come up with a possible solution to the threading situation in the Forums, and hope to have it up and running by the end of the weekend. If you notice any problems with your access to any part of the site, drop us a line.
