New Years Day Rides
CrankMaster Club - Calgary, Alberta
The twenty four CrankMaster riders that assembled at North Glenmore Park in Calgary on New Years Day certainly know the benefits of a good old Alberta Chinook. At ride time the temperature was +7 Deg C and the wind was fairly light by Calgary standards at 10-15 kph from the WSW. Actually better conditions than we raced in last May if the truth were known.
As the attached photo shows the roads were mostly bare and there was no lack of enthusiasm shown by all. Most riders completed three laps of the park (5 kms per lap) with a couple of keeners doing five. Even though the weather was warm for this time of year a warm beverage at the local coffee shop certainly hit the spot at the end of the ride. This was a perfect start to the 2007 cycling season.
Happy New Years to all.
