The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to sport excellence is seeking a full-time Coordinator, Olympic Preparation.
The overall purpose of this position is to work from the direction of the Managers of Olympic Preparation and in concert with the other Coordinator of Olympic Preparation to implement and coordinate all aspects of the COC's Olympic Podium Performance Preparation (OPPP) programs by working closely with COC staff and National Sport Federation (NSF) partners.
This position would be of interest to Olympic athletes or coaches and/or individuals who have significant experience within the Canadian Sport system at the high performance level, along with:
Understanding, recognition and respect for the roles, responsibilities and pressures of athletes, coaches and NSFs; and
A commitment to continuing to strengthen the relationship with athletes, coaches and NSFs in order to achieve Olympic Podium success.
Bilingualism would be a considerable asset in this position.

The primary areas of responsibility for this position include, but are not limited to:
Olympic Podium Performance Preparation (OPPP)
Assist in implementing NSF Olympic Preparation progress reports;
Work with NSFs on a regular basis in coordinating the implementation of OPPP initiatives that meets NSF requirements for Olympic podium success;
Familiarization Coordinate all logistical arrangements for venue and site familiarization visits to host city;
Excellence Series and Seminars
To coordinate all logistics pertaining to delivery of excellence series contents;
To coordinate all logistics pertaining to delivery of preparation Seminar contents;
To coordinate all logistics pertaining to delivery of Team Orientation Sessions contents;
Pre-Games Training Camps
Assist in the coordination of all logistics pertaining to COC service/operations at pre-Games training camps;
Team Selection
Review and research IOC, International Federation (IF), and Organizing Committee, Olympic Games (OCOG) policies, rules and regulations regarding all aspects of participation at Olympic and Pan Am Games;
Monitor all IF and NSF qualification relevant to Canadian participation at Games;
Assist in the development of team size estimates;
Assist in providing recommendations for Pan Am Games quotas;
Coordinate the establishment of NSF/COC Team Selection Agreements;
Coordinate, monitor and document status of coaches with respect to COC Coaches Selection Policy;
Prepare selection material for COC Team Selection Committee;
At-Games Support Coordinate sport entries for OCOG on behalf of COC and NSFs;
Lead COC Games results of Canadians and daily schedule monitoring of Canadians;
Liaise with administrator of COC website to integrate results and Games related information on COC site; Coordinate completion of COC final post-games report;
Other Assist Manager, Olympic Preparation wherever necessary
Knowledge and Skill Required:
Applicant must have:
Understanding, recognition and respect for the role, responsibility and pressure on athletes, coaches and NSFs;
Commitment to continuing to strengthen the relationship with athletes, coaches and NSFs in order to achieve Olympic Podium Success;
Basic understanding of Canadian Sport System; and
Basic understanding of IOC and IF Rules and Regulations

Education: High School Diploma and College or University degree in sport related field preferred
Background: High Performance Sport background preferred

Computer Skills: Proficiency in excel, word and powerpoint, access and office desirable
Bilingualism: Fluently bilingual preferred
