Kelly Benefit Strategies/LSV Elite Amateur Cycling Announces 2007 Roster

Building on its breakthrough 2006 season and association with the newly formed Kelly Benefit Strategies/Medifast Professional Cycling team, Kelly Benefit Strategies/LSV Elite Amateur Cycling has announced its roster for the 2007 season.

The team has retained its strong core of experienced riders, who assisted in numerous local and regional wins and notable victories at the National Elite Road Championship and Green Mountain Stage Race and in promoting riders to the pro ranks - including the elite amateur road race champion, Matt Cooke, to Navigators Insurance Professional Cycling Team and Nick Waite, to newly formed Kelly Benefit Strategies/Medifast professional team.

The team has also recruited a new group of young talented riders to build for the future and has hired Beth Leasure as Sports Director to bring a new level of commitment and organization to the team's developmental efforts. Beth comes to KBS/LSV with many years of racing experience, including time spent racing on French and a Dutch teams, association with Hunter Allen's Peaks Coaching Group, and a history of success directing U26 riders to careers as young professionals.

John Kelly, the title sponsor for the team, stated that "our mission is to build the Kelly Benefit Strategies/LSV Amateur Cycling team into a national caliber amateur program for aspiring and committed young elite-level cyclists interested in racing and training in the mid-Atlantic region. The team will benefit from its close association with the Kelly Benefit Strategies professional team, and will help develop and identify riders capable of racing professionally."
