Winter 'Nationals' at Forest City Velodrome

The Forest City Velodrome in London Ontario is pleased to announce over $2,000 in Cash & Merchandise is on offer for the up coming (February 16-18) race meet at the indoor Velodrome.

The Winner take all $1,500.00 cash award is for any rider to win all 6 events in their category. The division must have 12 riders registered. open to Juniors, Seniors, Masters & Women. In addition $500.00 will be awarded to the top riders in the Sprint Tournament on Saturday night.

"The idea to offer cash is a little more incentive to get the best track racers from North America to attend the event", The Winter Nationals is a special event that has become the kick-off to serious training for up coming summer season for many cyclists in Ontario". commented Bob Schelstraete the designer of the very fast 138m Velodrome.

London will play host to this second annual mid-winter event which will draw riders from across Canada and the United States. Many of the riders have been training for this weekend for many months. The Winter Nationals will test the fitness of each rider in 6 different events through out the weekend. From sprints to Time Trials and Mass start events.... the racers will have to perform well in every discipline to take home the Cash.

2006 Masters World Champion Gord Singleton will be in attendance helping out the Juniors during the weekend. Racing kicks off on Friday February 16th at 7pm, and continues all weekend.... you will not want to miss this event.

If you have not been to the Velodrome in a while, it's time to come out and make some noise.
