February 14/07 8:49 am - Sooke Classic Road Race & Bastion Square Cycling Grand Prix Criterium Update

There have been rumours afloat that the Sooke Classic Road Race & Bastion Square Cycling Grand Prix Criterium will NOT take place in 2007. We have heard that the event is still palnned for this year, but on a different set of dates.

The annual event is still planned to take place in 2007. The organizing committee is being encouraged by the PacificSport National Cycling Centre and Cycling BC to move their dates from May which conflicts with international events to a time more in concert with the international competive schedule as well as events scheduled for the mainland. A move to August is being discussed and I think the committee is meeting this Friday to confirm the details. Hugh MacDonald - PacificSport Victoria.
