No Doped Racers at 2006 La Ruta

The Anti-doping samples taken during the past edition of La Ruta de los Conquistadores were negative according an official communication sent by the authorities of the International Cyclist Union (UCI) to the Costa Rican Cycling Federation (FECOCI).
"After three months, finally they have sent us an email saying that everybody was clean in La Ruta and all the tests resulted negative", said FECOCI's Anti-Doping Secretary, Felix Murillo.
The organization of La Ruta will now proceed releasing the cash prizes to the racers who triumphed in all five categories, Open Men and Women, Master A Men, Master B Men and Veterans Men.
Last year overall winner was Colombian Leonardo Páez (Full Dynamix) which XCM season will begin next month in Spain. Female champion was Canadian Marg Fedyna.
"Now, they will be able to show the 2006's event trophy on their prizes stand. We're very happy to know that everybody respected the rules", commented La Ruta's Race Director, Luis Viquez.
The organization just announced that this year's race will have the Doping Control as well.
