The Board of Directors of the National Cycling Centre Hamilton would like to announce that after 6 years with the Centre, Head Coach Neil Ross, will be leaving his position as Head Coach on March 14, 2007, in order to pursue new opportunities with the team in Europe.

Neil began his term in Hamilton coaching out of McMaster University in what was then part of the OCA's High Performance program in 2001. Following the 2003 World Road Championships in Hamilton, Neil was an integral part of the transition team that help create the National Cycling Centre Hamilton, which came into existence in 2005. He was hired as the full-time Head Coach for the Centre in 2006.

During his tenure in Hamilton, National Cycling Centre athletes won eleven National Champions titles, three Canada Games Gold Medals, overall GC at the Tour de l'Abitibi, and twenty-one of the Centre's athletes have participated on projects with the Canadian National Team. In 2006, the National Cycling Centre Hamilton sent ten athletes and two coaches to World Championship events.

Neil is accepting a short-term contract position with the team, which is based in Italy. The Board of Directors of the National Cycling Centre Hamilton would like to thank Neil for his exceptional work in developing the Centre and congratulate him for his great achievements in coaching Canadian athletes. He has left the program at the National Cycling Centre in excellent shape and all those involved with the Centre wish Neil continuing success with his future endeavours.
