Nissan Joins MTB World Cup
The International Cycling Union has unveiled Nissan as new title sponsor of the forthcoming Mountain Bike World Cup.
The Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup presented by Shimano, will see 11 events across 10 countries during 2007, with the partnership confirmed through 2009.
The UCI and Nissan aim to develop mountain biking across all levels, particularly through the high profile World Cup event which attracts a global television audience.
UCI president Pat McQuaid underlined the importance of the agreement between the International Federation and Nissan.
"Mountain biking is a modern and dynamic discipline with an attractive image and enormous potential," he said. "The interest shown by a company like Nissan confirms this. Thanks to the joint efforts of Nissan and the UCI, everyone associated with mountain biking will see fantastic progress in the years to come."

The Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup presented by Shimano, will consist of 11 events this year, spanning the different disciplines of: cross-country marathon, cross-country Olympic, downhill and 4-cross.
The first event of the series will be the cross-country marathon on March 17 in Gran Canaria, Spain.
