'A' Teams - It was Team Windsor night at the velodrome. Team mates Daniele Defranceschi and Chris Morden combined points in the first event, the scratch race, to take the lead.
In the final lap of the first point sprint of the opening madison session Morden contacted Eric Robertson of Team Brantford and he in turn contacted Dave Byer of Team Delhi. Both riders went down hard and had to withdraw from the evening's racing. Everyone is waiting to find out if they will be able to continue tomorrow.
At the end of the session Windsor was one point up on Team London - Stephen Meyer and Brandon Throop. Rob Good and Lorne Falkenstein came over from the 'B' teams and substituted for the injured Robertson and Byer.
Eon D'Ornellas, who is the Team Burlington sponsor, put up 4 prime sprints in the last madison session and that got things flying. After the second prime sprint Teams Windsor, London and Burlington had opened up a big gap on the other three and continued on to take a lap.
The final point sprint for double points saw Mike Renneboog of Team Delhi throw on the afterburners and nip DeFranceschi of Windsor at the line.
