Velo NB Looking for Executive Director
Velo NB is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the part-time position of Executive Director. This position requires excellent communication skills and organizational abilities. A passion for cycling is a definite asset.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, VELO NB
Reporting to the Velo NB Board of Directors, the Executive Director is Velo NB's front line of communication and its key administrative and logistical support person. The position requires excellent communication skills and organizational abilities. A passion for cycling is a definite asset.
Specifically, the Executive Director's responsibilities include the following:
Communication and Liaison
The Executive Director is the principal communication link between Velo NB and its board, members, and clubs; the Canadian Cycling Organization (CCA) and other provincial cycling organizations, and Sport NB. The Executive Director is also Velo NB's primary line of communication with the general public. S/he will:
answer inquiries and requests for information from members of the public, Velo NB members and clubs, potential sponsors, media, etc.
liaise with cycling and sport-related organizations such as the CCA, other provincial cycling organizations, and Sport NB
keep apprised of relevant developments and communicate pertinent information to Velo NB board and staff
pursue miscellaneous promotional activities for Velo NB
coordinate with event organizers and other provincial cycling organizations to publish a yearly calendar of NB cycling events
draft, edit, seek submissions for, and publish biannual Velo NB Newsletter
prepare press releases for media and for the Velo NB web site
Administrative and Logistical
The Executive Director carries out the day-to-day operational requirements of Velo NB. S/he will:
licence and register members and clubs, and provide them with information regarding insurance, events, etc.
maintain Velo NB's membership and records systems, including database, mailing list, etc. in accordance with CCA and insurance requirements
manage Velo NB risk management and insurance programs in coordination with the CCA
coordinate administrative and logistical details of board and other meetings; notify participants, book venue, arrange conference calls, etc.
provide logistical and administrative support for Velo NB programs
assist and support Velo NB subcommittees and staff
