The West Point Cycles Toonie Race Series returns once again to Vancouver this summer. This year, this low-key cross-country racing series features 8 races on Wednesday nights throughout the summer on 7 different courses throughout the North Shore Mountains and the Buntzen Lake area. With a predominantly cross-country race format, courses will vary from lap races, to point to point races, to time trials and even a super D (for those of you with bigger bikes!).

The Series is again running through NSMBA, a trail advocacy group for North Shore riding, and sanctioned through GRMBA. This means races only cost $2 (a toonie) after your one time insurance fee of $27. This is a yearly insurance fee needed for all NSMBA and SORCA events, including the NSMBA ripper series.

Once again, the West Point Cycles Toonie Race Series has a great line up of sponsors, which will translate into great draw prizes at each race! This year's series title sponsor is West Point Cycles and is presented by Rocky Mountain Bicycles, with Ambleside Bikes, Power Bar, Sugoi and OGC/Pedros donating great draw prizes. So whatever bike, skill level or racing experience you have, come on out for a great time!

First race will be Wednesday April 18th on Fromme Mountain. (Top of mountain highway) Races will be held twice a month throughout most of the summer. For more information, race dates, meeting spots, times and course details, see www.toonieracing.com or email me at toonieracing@hotmail.com.
