McGrath Continues to Lead at Cactus

After a $120 sushi bill, the legs were fueled and ready for an evening in anaerobic hell. Tonight the Fat Boy Crit took place with only time bonuses to be gained, and skin to be lost if you didn't make the corners. At the completion of each lap, back markers are pulled till there are six racers left over to finish the last five laps. The race was powered by Andreas Hestler (Polo Sport), Peter Wedge (Mapei-Kona), Matt Toulouse (Ford Devinci), Steve Tilford, and myself (Catera Klein DKNY) for the first twenty minutes as each of us tried taking pulls to test the others out (and get our respective sponsors a little TV time!).

Racing wisely was White Rasta (Haro) and Italian Pasta....who both ended up in the final sprint. Dre was pulled with seven laps left, as Tilford, Cioni, White Rasta, and Wedge forced the pace. In a dash to not be the last, I failed and was the last to be pulled.....bummer! The last five laps saw Wedge try a flier, and Todd Wells leading out Steve Tilford for the victory. White Rasta stayed tucked in behind Tilford for second, picking up a 45 second time bonus in the process. Seamus now leads the race by over a minute heading into the final day with Cioni in second, Jibber Randolph in third, Hestler in fourth and me in fifth. Tomorrow team tactics could apply...we hope Seamus can hold on for victory. Should be interesting. Over and out................

*Riders given the 'Scary to be around award' include the boys from KHS, and Hayes....all of whom hit pedals, and bars while opening up gaps....sorry for the diss but
they freaked everyone out.

Calendars

We have had some difficulties with a couple of the provincial calendars - Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia - so they won't be going up for a day or so. However, Québec, Ontario (updated), Alberta and B.C. all were posted yesterday.
