Svein Tuft will be riding with Symmetrics Pro Cycling for at least 3 more years. The team is proud to announce that we have signed Tuft to a long-term contract that signifies Symmetrics Pro Cycling's commitment to the sport in Canada. After international wins like the Tour of Cuba, the US Open Championships, and several National titles on both the road and track, it is clear that Svein Tuft is the present and future of Canadian cycling. Svein has been with Symmetrics for the last 4 years and it was an easy decision for both motivated parties to continue the relationship.
Symmetrics Pro Cycling is working hard to give Svein the environment and financial security that lets him focus solely on training and racing. The teams program has grown tremendously over that last five years and it has been a pleasure to work with such a committed team player and athlete. Svein has shown leadership and commitment and we want to give him the security he needs, Kevin Cunningham, Symmetrics Pro Cycling co-owner said. We have a firm belief in developing our riders for the long haul, and part of that is security that they will be able to focus on the task at hand: bike racing. A three-year deal means that Svein knows we are in it for the long haul, and we know that so is he.
Svein Tuft, a resident of Langley, BC, is equally pleased to commit to the team for the future. For me personally, this team means so much. Without the commitment that Symmetrics has given me over the last four years I honestly don't think I would have ever reached the success that I have experienced, Tuft said. The most exciting thing for me personally is I believe we have only started and the best is still to come. This program has grown to be such an example of what teammates can do together and the idea of riding for anyone else never was in question. It is great to see a program like ours give me the security so I can enjoy my career without worrying about the future.

The team hopes to sign several more long-term deals with its core riders in an effort to continue an already outstanding program. Symmetrics Cycling firmly believes in providing a venue for Canadian cyclists to excel, in anticipation of the upcoming 2008 Olympics, and beyond.
