Courtesy Newmarket Cycling Club
Saturday June 9th
On-Line Registration Closes on June 7, 2007
You can now register for the Newmarket Cycling Club's Youth Race. It is now open to all boys and girls ages 10 to 16 (birth years 1991 to 1997). You do not require a race license or citizen's permit to participate. All that is needed is a helmet and a bike that is safe to ride. (Please note that aero equipment, time trial bikes or bull horns are not permitted)
It is pre-registration only. Just go to the OCA web site at www.ontariocycling.org and click on the „Event Registration‰ button in the middle of the page.
This is a stand alone event just for the kids so it is a perfect opportunity for them try a real race. In fact, there are two events, a time trial and a road race. There are separate races for boys and girls in two year age categories. Medals will be awarded in each category based on results from both events. But you do not need to participate in both races. There will also be a BBQ, a T-shirt and other free stuff to the first 150 registered. This is courtesy of Fuji, Norco, Louis Garneau and Helly Hansen
The course is a safe 4 km loop with no steep hills.
Bring your child, niece, nephew or neighbour and support youth cycling.
