Jesse Jakomait wins Solo 24 Hours of Steamboat

Jesse Jakomait took first place in the Rio 24 Hours of Steamboat Springs, CO ultra endurance mountain bike race June 9th and 10th in the Men's open solo division. His efforts broke his own course record set last year and in doing so became the first ever repeat winner.

This event is known as the hardest 24 hour race in the USA as each lap takes the competitors up a 2100 feet mountain then back down. Jesse rode non stop day and night completing 16 laps and climbing an astounding 35,000 feetl. In winning this race he has qualified to compete in the 24 Hour World Championships to be held September in California although he is unsure he will attend.

Background - Jesse Jakomait was 2003 Canada Cup Series winner Pro Men and 2x Ontario Series winner (2003 & 4).
