The tremendous success surrounding last year's first edition of the Challenge Louis-Garneau Québec-Trois-Rivières has driven race organizer Jean-Yves Labonté, in cooperation with sponsor Louis Garneau, to once again lauch the wonderful challenge intended for riders who do not qualify for the Classique Louis Garneau Montréal-Québec.

The Challenge will start at 9 a.m. in front of the Louis Garneau Sports factory in Saint Augustin-de-Desmaures and riders will cross the finish line in front of the Centre de formation professionnel Qualitech in Trois-Rivières, after a rather flat 109-km race. Registration is opened to Junior, Senior 2-3 and Master categories.

Last year's race welcomed nearly 100 riders at the line of departure. Organizers forecast 150 participants for the second edition. The 2006 fight to win the race was really close with 3 riders crossing the finish line within tenths of seconds. The great winner was Miguel Sanchez, from the Sport-Bazar Sillery, who rided the 109 km in 2 h 37 m 22 s.

“We are really proud to sponsor a race intended for both young and older riders for a second year. Last year's young riders showed a lot of determination throughout the race. Rising talent in cyling is definitely promising!”, says Louis Garneau, official sponsor of the event.
