To the Benefit of Les petits frères des Pauvres
Louis Garneau invites passionate cyclists to ride this coming August 19 to raise funds for Les petits frères des Pauvres.
For the fifth year in a row, Cascades is proud to sponsor the Cyclosportive. The 250-km ultra distance ride departs merely one hour before the "pros" and share the same circuit as the Classique Louis Garneau Montréal-Québec. The ride will depart early morning on August 19, in front of the Maurice-Richard arena in Montréal and will finish in front of the Louis Garneau Sports factory in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures.
The Cyclosportive's 2007 edition is sure to provide a real challenge to all participants. Even though the ride is open to everyone, proper preparation is however required to fully appreciate the experience. Cyclists registered for the departure will ride at an average speed of 30 km/h to reach Québec city approximately one hour after the pro riders. To register, a minimum contribution of $500 is required, including a custom jersey with logos of the sponsors. The organization targets a maximum of 50 participants to raise funds for Les petits frères des Pauvres.
Last year, the Cyclosportive Cascades Louis-Garneau was a huge success: 47 riders at the departure line made it possible to raise more than $11,000 for Les petits frères des Pauvres, thus providing happiness to many elder people. Again this year, money raised will ensure the viability of Les petits frères des Pauvres' chalet, located in Lac St-Joseph.
