2007 marks the fourth year the Owasco Velo Club has hosted the Owasco Stage Race. This year's event remains a three stage race, with the traditional first stage time trial, the stage two criterium and third stage road race.
The race is held in the area around Owasco Lake , which is located in the Finger Lakes region in northern New York state. Closest large city is Auburn NY.
The terrain is challenging, the competition is 'quality' and in recent years a favourite of Canadians. In 2006 Mark Walters was 3rd overall, Zach Bell 5th, with Merrill Collins winner of the women's overall.
The organizer would like to stress that with limited accommodations in the area it is strongly recommended that riders planning to attend the 2007 edition make their hotel reservations now. Last year many arrived in the area ready to race, only to discover NO Vacancy at all the local motels.
Go to the OSR website for stage details, online registration, accommodations information and more.
