All of the top riders will start
There will be 68 women on the start line for the first World Cup of the 1999 season. Of the top 35 women in the standings, only 2 are missing - and none of the top 15. Canada is very well represented, with 10 women on the starting line. The Canadian contingent is:
Alison Sydor
Chrissy Redden
Lesley Tomlinson
Melanie Dorion
Sue Palmer-Komar
Melanie McQuaid
Trish Sinclair
Leslie Greene
Amber Chorney
Nadine Petit
Of course, all the other top riders are also here, including Paola Pezzo, Alison Dunlap, Gunn-Rita Dahle, Chantal Daucourt and World Champion Laurence Leboucher. Many of the Europeans are an unknown quantity, since they didn't do Sea Otter. So today should be an eye opener as to who's on form. Check back this afternoon for our live coverage.
