Tour of Courage Final Registration Week Begins
The final push is on for what promises to be the biggest cycling related fundraising event in British Columbia's history!
Competitive & recreational cyclists aged 12 and up continue to sign up for the BC Cancer Foundation Tour of Courage Community Ride, featuring Lance Armstrong, Axel Merckx, Steve Bauer, Phil Liggett, Johann Bryneel & friends in Vancouver on Sunday, September 23rd .
"This will be a special day for local cyclists to see, hear & ride with such cycling celebrities" explained Philip Meyer, part of the steering committee for the Tour of Courage, "Many of our local cycling clubs & riders have already signed up as well as people that haven't touched a bike in years, its a great opportunity to get back on the bike or have a great day training with your club/team on controlled roads while raising money for cancer research."
The Tour of Courage Community Ride starts at UBC and rolls through the streets of Vancouver and surrounding communities. Participants must pre-register and can choose to ride a 30, 60 or 90 km route.
"All proceeds from our BC Cancer Foundation Tour of Courage community ride go to blood cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency," said Nick Locke interim CEO of the BC Cancer Foundation.
