On Sunday September 23rd in Owen Sound ON
The 2007 Whemmys Enduro will take place this Sunday, September 23rd at the Sawmill Trails, located at 719533 Hwy 6, between Hepworth and Shallow Lake, just northwest of Owen Sound.
As per tradition, the Whemmys is a three-hour timed event open to solo riders or three-person relay teams. The rider and/or team that completes the most laps is the winner and may briefly hoist the famous Golden Saddle trophy. The course is 5.5km in length and features a mix of fast double-track and technical singletrack. There are some small hills but nothing overly strenuous.
Last year's solo champion Jason Rody (Arrow Racing) will be back to defend his title and is prepared to take on any challengers. Jolley's Alternative Wheels, Mark's Work Wearhouse and Dirt Rag Magazine are contributing swag and draw prizes. Entry fee is $30 per rider, and one-day licences will be sold for $5. Sign-in is from 9am until 10am, and the race starts at 1030am sharp. After the race it's just a short drive to famous Sauble Beach for that last swim of the season.
Entry forms are available at : www.owensoundcycling.ca/whemmy07.pdf
