Sept 23rd

Stephen Ferris was the repeat winner of Sunday's 'Race of the Fallen Leaves' by winning the 50 km Montney Road race in a time of 1:24:44 hours. Colter Young was second at 1:27:20 and Robin Baillie third at 1:28:58. Pat Ferris was 4th at 1:29:25 and Roger St. Jean 5th at 1:29:43.

The Race of the Fallen Leaves was the season's final Challenge Cup Race. This was the third Challenge Cup race win for Stephen Ferris, this year, leading the Blizzards to the Challenge Cup win. The Blizzards won the day 73 points to GP's 13. The Blizzards won the year 780 points to GP's 412 and Dawson Creeks 188.

Eighteen riders went out from the Montney Store, headed out to the Prespatou Road, and the turnaround. Stephen Ferris, Colter Young and Robin Baillie pulled away from the pack at the 5 km mark. Baillie dropped back after 15 km's. Ferris and Young stayed together until about the 40 km mark when Ferris pulled away for the win.

Pat Ferris and Roger St. Jean caught Robin Baillie and stayed together until the finishing hill.

Darren Guliov was 6th at 1:31:27, Gary Hilderman 1:31:39, Ken Perry 1:31:53, Richard Wood 1:32:43, Dave Jaeger 1:32:55, Barb Polehoykie 1:33:20, Bob Andrews 1:38:20, Francis Plum 1:41:03, Duane Oltmanns 1:41:24, Sandy MacDonald 1:42:15 and Owen Giebelhaus 1:47:58. Kendra Young won the 25 km at 59:53 and Marie Young next at 1:01:25.

Coming up:

-Thursday Toony Cross 6 pm Sharp at the High School circuit.
-Sunday is Cyclo Cross at the High School at 2 pm. This race will also be the selection race for the Northern BC Games Cyclo Cross event, as well.

Sept. 20th

Robin Baillie kept his unbeaten streak alive with another Thursday night 'Toony' Cross win. He covered the 35 minute event with a winning 7 laps and a fastest single lap of 5:22 minutes. Colter Young was second, also with 7 laps. Bob Andrews was third at 6 laps.

Pat Ferris was 4th, Gord Harris 5th, Roger St. Jean, Gary Hilderman and Kevin Cooper, all with 6 laps. Richard Wood and Sandy MacDonald did 5 laps and Stephen Ferris 3 laps.
