Quebec City Velodrome Demolished
Back in June, the city of Quebec announced that the Louis Garneau Velodrome was beyond repair and slated it for demolition.
This announcement caught the cycling community off guard, as significant repairs HAD been done in 2005 and inspections since by the FQSC had identified that minor repairs (to surface boards) were all that were required.
An article on the the track specific website Fixed Gear Fever back in late June laid out some of the history of the track.
On Monday November 19th, bulldozers moved in and the track was demolished quickly. The Quebec based website Veloptimum has photos of the track being demolished and a story (in French).
