Theft-proof bike racks could roll in by spring
A proposal for a bicycle storage facility near Union Station is expected to be popular with riders who don't want to see their expensive wheels stolen.
The 200-bike facility, with swipe-card access for users, would be located in the York St. rail underpass and could be open for business as early as May.

"Lion King" Cipollini is back
The 2002 world champion and playboy sprinter will ride for the controversial US Rock Racing team, sponsored by the trendy clothing company Rock & Republic. According to a report in the Italian Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, Cipollini will ride for the team in 2008 and also manage part of the team with a European base in Monaco.

O'Grady awaits miracle
At first glance the field for the Tour Down Under isn't bristling with the world's best talent, despite the race being added to cycling's elite ProTour calendar.
Just 29 of the 133 riders listed to suit up for the six-day tour around Adelaide were also on the start line for the Tour de France last year. But according to former Tour de France stage winner and now Caisse D'Epargne team manager Neil Stephens, that's probably a good thing.

Hoy laments danger faced by cyclists
OLYMPIC champion cyclist Chris Hoy has admitted that he takes a risk with his life every time he trains on Britain's open roads.
Hoy was speaking after the tragic death of Jason MacIntyre, the 34-year old British time trial champion from Fort William, underlined the dangers cyclists face. As well as pointing out that training on the roads is inherently dangerous, Hoy also highlighted the fact that cycling on British roads is far more dangerous than it should be.

Lance runs on Boston
Cycling great Lance Armstrong, accustomed to the 2,100-mile trek of the Tour de France, will soon give the 26.2-mile Boston Marathon a spin.
The seven-time Tour champion qualified for Boston by finishing the 2007 ING New York City Marathon in 2 hours, 46 minutes and 43 seconds. Armstrong, 36, easily beat the Marathon‚s 3:15 qualifying time for his 35-39-year-old age group.
