OCA Announces 2008 Spring MTB-XC Cadet Camp
Cadet Talent Identification Camp
After a long winter in Southern Ontario, Mountain Bike athletes are slowly finding their favorite trails to ride once again. The abundant snow mass (for Ontario) and cold temperatures have kept most riders on the trainer all winter. However, that time is over! With the sound of the melt well under way, athletes are gearing up for another season of Mountain Bike racing.
Team Ontario MTB is ramping up for the New and Improved High Performance Cadet Camp the first weekend of May (3rd & 4th). The Cadet Camp will kick start the Ontario MTB Projects for High Performance for this season. Athletes age 15-16 will converge on Hardwood Hills MTB center to train with provincial Coach Kevin Simms and Team Ontario coaching staff.
Athletes attending this camp will have an opportunity to train together as they prepare for the Ontario Cup and Canada Cup series in 2008. The weekend will provide quality training sessions, structured workouts, video analysis of technical riding, individual testing, guest speakers and core training sessions. Coaches are looking to identify a pool of young MTB athletes (both male and female) who will develop into future Team Ontario members.
If you know of a Cadet age athlete who would be interested, please see the OCA website for more details on this High Performance initiative.
