Weather Report From New Brunswick
(courtesy Dave Macfarlane)
Weather is still dry, but cloud and showers forecast through the weekend. I say bummer, Trevor Porter says Hurrayyy!! mud and slick roots, oh boy!. These DH'ers ... I don't think that he will get much mud etc as the forecast only says chance of occasional showers. Maybe just enuff to keep the forest fires away.
Course reports are very positive. Pete Wedge says in article in today's Fredericton Daily Gleaner that the X-country course is a fun one, not as technical in the drops as some he's ridden but still a challenge with lots of up & down, generally good passing opportunity on the ups and good single track on the downs.
Ed. Note: I will be in transit to Poley tomorrow, so that we can provide live, lap-by-lap updates during the weekend, for this first Canada Cup of the year.
Victoria Wednesday Night Crits
(courtesy Pat Leask)
Every Wednesday night is a club race open to all riders in our area. The race's vary from a high speed Crit to a road course hosted in turn by the Victoria Wheelers and the Juan de Fuca Cycling Club.
We normally have 70 or more riders turn out to enjoy the race with many Canadian National team members participating when in town (Victoria being the National Training Center). Most riders ride the "A" or "B" race according to their licence cat and or ability. However, there is an option for riders to ride the higher race if they so wish for development.
