2008 Hub/Devinci Cyclocross Team

The Hub Bicycle Shop in partnership with Cycles Devinci is proud to announce the formation of The Hub/Devinci Cyclocross Team. The team is composed of 4 cyclocross racers who are eager to take on some of North America's best Elite, Junior and Masters racers. First up for the team will be southern Ontario's spring classic enduro, Paris to Ancaster on Sunday April 20th, with the main part of their cyclocross season beginning in September.

With a passion for the sport of cyclocross, The Hub/Devinci Cyclocross Team will be focusing on strong performances in the Southern Ontario Cyclocross race series, The Canadian National Cyclocross Championships in Edmonton Alberta, a few trips east to race in the Ottawa area and into the USA.

The team's rooster include Erik Box, Peter Mogg, Clifford Vanclief and a yet to be named Cadet or Junior racer. For Erik, 2007 proved to be a true "break-out" season. Racing at the Elite level, Erik managed to podium at every Ontario CX race he entered, and then finished the season of with a strong 6th place at the Provincial Championship. As well as an extremely strong presence in the Ontario sense, Erik managed to travel to Gloucester, Massachusetts for what is one of North America's largest races. There he found himself only 4 minutes back from some of the best in the world and proved that he was ready to be tested at an international level. With two fourth places, three thirds and a second place, Erik looks forward to claiming the top spot in the Ontario CX series for 2008.

Peter is an accomplished master's road, mountain bike and cyclocross racer, winning the '07 Provincial Championship Road Omnium Award and the '07 Provincial Hill Climb Championship. He also placed second at the '06 Ontario Cross Provincial Championships for the Master A category and finished fifth overall last year in the '07 Southern Ontario Cyclocross series in the Elite men's category.

Cliff and his wife own The Hub Bicycle Shop. He brings his passion and love of the sport to the team. Cliff may not win races anymore but is eager to grow the sport and race on a minutes notice. Cliff will also be looking after most of the logistics of the team.

The Hub Bicycle Shop in Cambridge, Ontario and Cycles Devinci in Chicoutimi, Quebec support the team. The Hub Bicycle Shop is located in downtown Hespeler, a small village that is just north of the 401. The Hub is very active in supporting and growing the sport of cycling in the Hespeler area as well as province wide. Cycles Devinci produces fine quality Canadian bicycles. They have reached new heights in this endeavor with the establishment of a state-of-the-art testing laboratory. This laboratory makes it possible for Devinci to reach beyond the limits of design by giving you highly reliable, safe bikes that stand among the best in the industry.
